New in WinGPS 6: BASIC Mode - Easier navigation
With the introduction of WinGPS 6 – 2025, our Windows navigation software gains a new feature: BASIC mode. This mode is specially designed for users who prefer a simple and clear way to navigate, without distractions from extra settings or advanced features.
BASIC mode is currently in its testing phase. We would love to hear your feedback and experiences so that we can further refine it together with you.
What is the BASIC Mode?
The BASIC Mode provides WinGPS with a simplified display that includes only the essential navigation functions. Some menu items and buttons will be hidden to keep the interface clear and uncluttered. This makes it ideal for:
✔️ New users who want to quickly familiarize themselves with the program.
✔️ Recreational boaters who use WinGPS for short periods and only need the essential information.
✔️ Skippers who primarily use their navigation software for basic navigation.
✔️ Crew members who need to temporarily take over navigation with ease.
Switching between BASIC and STANDARD Mode
With just one click, you can easily switch between BASIC Mode and STANDARD Mode, where all advanced features remain available. You can do this via the new button in the toolbar.
Create and share your own profiles
A great new feature for experienced users is the ability to create and share custom profiles (available in Pro, Voyager, and Inland). With Profile Management, you can set up your ideal workspace, for example, by keeping only the buttons you really need.
Have you found a layout that works perfectly for you? You can export it as an ini file and share it with other WinGPS 6 – 2025 users, who can easily import it. This ensures that you always have access to your preferred settings, wherever you are!
Adjusting your screen layout
Would you like to customize your screen layout? By enabling the "Edit Layout" button in the Main Menu, you can freely move toolbars and docked windows to optimize your workspace. Once you disable this button again, everything will be locked in place to prevent unintended changes.
