The new Vaarkaart of South West Germany is developed for water sports enthusiasts and commercial vessels in Western Europe. Next to the new DKW Vaarkaart North West Germany, now South West is also available on DVD and as digital download.
You can use this chart with the free WinGPS 5 Lite for Windows, and it also can be installed on your tablet or smartphone using WinGPS™ Marine for Android™. For accurate route planning with rotating chart and AIS you will need WinGPS 5 Pro or Voyager.
The chart connects seamlessly with Vaarkaart Netherlands, Vaarkaart Belgium, Vaarkaart NorthWest Germany and Vaarkaart North France.

Specifications of the chart set
The scale of the detail charts is 2m/pixel, or approximately 1:7.200 on your screen.This is the same scale as the last versions of the Vaarkaart Netherlands, Belgium, Northern France and North West Germany. The Overview chart with a scale of 20m/pixel (1:72.000) connects seamlessly when zooming in and out.
On the PC, tablet or smartphone you'll need 1,1 GB of data storage for the charts, database and legend. The waypoint database contains waypoint groups that may help you design your perfect chart view screen. This database will be renewed every year.
About the source material
With use of the additional information sources and the comments of users & testers this chart will be released anually. The base chart is based on the official Inland ENC charts of the WSA (Wasser- und Schifffahrtsämter), on a specially created OSM surface chart, for an optimal chart view.
