Have you ordered the 2022 edition of WinGPS 5? For example by purchasing the Service Card 2022? Then you can now download and install it. Below you will find a step-by-step plan to install WinGPS 5.
WinGPS 5 is for navigation on a Windows laptop or PC. If you want to navigate on an Android or iOS device, you can use WinGPS Marine for Android or WinGPS Marine for iOS.

Installation WinGPS 5 2022

You can easily download and install the 2022 edition of WinGPS via the Stentec Installer. Your current version of WinGPS 5 will then be overwritten and all your settings will be saved:
  1. Open the Stentec Installer on your computer.
    Don't have the Stentec Installer yet? Download the program via this link.
     
  2. Open the Stentec Installer and choose the second option: Install software and charts from the internet and click on 'Next'.
     
  3. You now need to log in with your Stentec account. Forgot your password? Click here to request a new password.
     
  4. You will now see an overview of all software and digital navigation charts that you have purchased. Check the box for WinGPS 5 (Navigator, Pro or Voyager) 2022 and click on 'Next'.

    The Stentec Installer may incorrectly indicate that WinGPS 2022 is already installed. You can ignore this and continue with the installation.
     
  5. In the next screen, click on 'Next' again to start the download and installation of WinGPS 5. You will be notified when the installation is complete.
WinGPS 5 2022 is now installed, activated and ready for use.

 Update and test

Before you can plan your journey in WinGPS, it is wise to update both your WinGPS and the digital charts to the latest versions. This way you have the most recent information and you can sail as safely as possible.

We recommend that you always test your laptop and GPS receiver if you have not used it for a longer period. A GPS rollover took place in 2019, as a result of which some GPS receivers no longer function properly. Also, many older GPS receivers do not work with Windows 11. So you may have to switch to a new GPS receiver.

  
Windows 11

The new BU353-s4 works well with Windows 11. The GNS 3000, a bluetooth GPS receiver, also functions well in combination with Windows 11. The MR-350s4 unfortunately not yet, a solution is still being worked on.
 
             

Upgrade WinGPS 5

We expect to release the 2022 edition of WinGPS 5 next week. Have you already upgraded your WinGPS 5 to the 2022 edition? For example by purchasing the Service Card 2022? Then you will receive an e-mail from us next week with the new 2022 edition. This allows you to regularly download the latest updates in the news center during this year, such as updates to bridges, locks and more.

In addition, you will receive free WinGPS 6 when it is available. For more information about WinGPS 6, click here.

Do you have an older version of WinGPS 5? Then you can easily upgrade to the 2022 edition for €80,-. This upgrade will be available in our online shop from next Monday.
 

Update WinGPS Marine

You can download the latest update of WinGPS Marine in the Playstore (Android) or Appstore (iOS). The charts installed in WinGPS Marine are checked for updates when you start the app.

With pride and enthusiasm we can announce that we are working hard on the WinGPS 6 series. The new WinGPS 6 will be exclusively available for Service Card owners. This way you can be the first to get to know our new navigation programs which are focused on safety, innovation and user friendliness.

We expect to release WinGPS 6 Navigator in the spring of 2022. The 6 version of the Pro and the Voyager will follow in the course of 2022.

    DKW UK1 English & Scottish Eastcoast

    The DKW UK1 covers the English and Scottish East Coast and is therefore the ideal chart for a crossing to or from England. In addition to a nice clear chart view, the DKW UK1 also offers you a large up-to-date chart of the North Sea.

    The new 2022 edition contains 53 updated charts. The 1873 North Sea chart from Dunkirk to Ostend has been completely updated.

    DKW DB German Bight

    The DKW German Bight connects seamlessly with the DKW 1812 and the DKW German Baltic coast, making it ideal for trips to the Baltic Sea. This chart of the German Wadden Sea offers a clear, familiar chart image for these changing waters and is updated weekly with the latest Notices to Mariners from the BSH.

    Major changes have taken place in the German Bight, which have been added to the new 2022 edition of the chart. In addition, 6 wind farms have been given a detailed chart.

    DKW German Baltic coast

    The DKW German Baltic Sea Coast is a clear and detailed chart of the German Baltic Sea coast and connects to the DKW German Bight. The chart will be updated regularly throughout 2022.

    Many changes have been made in the new 2022 edition. For example, the charts around the Schlei, the Wismarbucht and Rostock have been replaced by new, more detailed charts.

    The most current situation with the new 'Fehmarnbelt connection' is also shown. This will be a new tunnel between Germany and Denmark. The preparatory work for this has started, which means that ports will be adapted at that location, polders constructed and undersea reefs removed.

    DKW Imray chart sets

    The DKW Imray chart sets offer you clear charts for the European coastal waters: from Great Britain to the Black Sea, i.e. the series ID10 to ID70. Are you going to the Caribbean? Then the very extensive chart ID100 is recommended.

    The new 2022 editions have a lot of changes at the islands in particular:

    • The charts around Great Britain have been particularly modified at the Thames Estuary and South West Scotland. This concerns the DKW ID10 and DKW ID30. 
    • On the DKW ID40 many charts have been renewed in the Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira 
    • The DKW ID100 has also been thoroughly overhauled and contains many charts that have been renewed or updated for, among others, the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, Anguilla, St Maarten, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia.

    Did you pre-order the 2022 charts? Then you can now download the charts for free in your WinGPS.
    If you have the 2021 edition of a chart set, we offer a special upgrade price. In combination with the Service Card 2022 you will receive an extra €10,- discount on your upgrade!

      

    Expected in spring 2022

    We are currently working on the new edition of the DKW Northeast Germany. This chart and the 2022 edition DKW Vaarkaart Nederland are expected in the spring of 2022.

    You can now pre-order and install these charts. You will then initially receive the 2021 charts. As soon as the 2022 edition is available, you will automatically receive this version as an update in WinGPS and can download it immediately. In this way you are guaranteed to navigate with the most up-to-date navigation chart.
