Tip: Close WinGPS and all other navigational software when using GPS info. In the software click on 'start' and, when connected to the GPS receiver, click on 'Cold-start'. Afterwards, click on 'Close GPS' and close the software. The GPS receiver is now available for use in other navigational software.

DirectX 9.0c
For WinGPS 5 (Windows) to work on your system DirectX 9.0c is needed. When newly installing WinGPS 5 (2016 or newer) DirectX 9.0c will be installed automatically. When you want to install an older edition this will not be done automatically.
After downloading the file you will be prompted to extract the files in a new folder onto your system. This can be a folder of your own choosing. After extraction you need to open the folder and start 'DXsetup' to install DirectX.
DirectX 9.0c is also needed in combination with Sail Simulator 5.

Solution for Windows XP: PROPSYS.DLL
When you want to install WinGPS 5 on Windows XP it is possible you receive an error regarding a missing file 'propsys.dll'. By downloading and installing this setup the missing file will be added to your system. After installation WinGPS 5 will run properly.
